If the part no longer has a drawing, we model it from the sample. It is the most common case with die components: the part is worn, the original manufacturer no longer supplies it, and it has to be rebuilt to the geometry that actually worked.

A working block held to tight tolerances, made to print or from the sample part.

Forming component in hardened steel. Replaced as a matched pair so they keep fitting each other.

Full replacement of the wear parts, so the die goes back to its original condition.

Profile cut by wire EDM where the geometry cannot be milled.

Custom die components. When there is no original drawing, we take the dimensions from the part.
Our own plant in Monterrey. We do not outsource fabrication, so we control lead time and tolerance ourselves.

Yes. If the part no longer has a drawing, we model it from the physical sample. It is the most common case with die components: the part is worn, the original manufacturer no longer supplies it, and it has to be rebuilt to the geometry that actually worked.
Yes, with EDM hole drilling. The EDM process erodes the tap without touching the threads in the part, which is what makes the part recoverable instead of scrap.
For EDM: a Fanuc Robocut α-1iA wire EDM, a Mitsubishi FX10 wire EDM and a Charmilles EDM hole drill. For machining and finishing: two Mori Seiki MV40 machining centers, one 4-axis Hyundai WIA VX500 machining center, two Daewoo Puma 10 HC CNC lathes and two 12 × 20 in. surface grinders.
No. CNC machining, wire EDM, turning and grinding are done in our own plant, so we control lead time and tolerance ourselves. The one exception is sinker EDM: when a part needs it, we coordinate it with an outside partner and we stand behind the result.
Yes, with 3D scanning, and 3D printing for prototypes. It is the route when there is a part but no drawing, and it pays to validate the geometry before cutting steel.
